Waiting for Memory (Funerary Architecture) What if a building compels you to look up? Funerary architecture has always been about grieving for the departed. Our gesture is often to imagine their earthly body six feet beneath the ground. But when the studio was commissioned while the future occupant is still alive, we began to see death differently—not as an ending, but as an anticipation of spiritual transcendence.
