Capua 1880 Headquarters and Production Complex
Capua1880, a Company producing citrus essential oils for the most authoritative companies in the world of beauty and cosmetics, decided in 2018 to redevelop a disused building, once the bottling plant of Coca-Cola, located on the Calabrian coast swept by the winds of the Strait of Messina. This choice was motivated by the need to expand its production spaces and to introduce new lines for the extraction of essential oils, as well as to create new representative and hospitality environments for international clients.

Snow Hill Wharf
This development has regenerated an under-utilised, contaminated brownfield site, and brings life to the city’s ‘inner ring’ of former employment land. Once the centre of the world’s gun manufacturing industry, Birmingham’s Gun Quarter was identified as an area of opportunity following its 20th Century decline, when a large part was demolished by post-war town planners. The key site issues were the detached location from the city centre, a lack of public spaces, poor quality walking routes, and industrial warehouses with no active frontages. Waaplayscape takes a radical (yet playful) approach to an industrial neighbourhood regeneration
Designed by we architech anonymous, Waaplayscape takes a radical approach to an urban site within an industrial warehouse complex by grafting layers onto the existing roof and courtyard spaces between a building complex comprised of one warehouse and one office building. The result is a new place for play distinct from the surrounding industrial vernacular.

The technique of hooking new functions onto an existing mass results in clear functional gains for the previously unusable area. This includes increasing area under the central mound by 600 sqm and utilizing extra available area on the roof which accounts for 879 sqm.
