Four squares dictate the spatial layout for this extended family home in Co. Clare. The house is broken into three simple block forms around these squares. The central block accommodating the living quarters for the house acts as the focal point between the sleeping blocks on either side. Jed Niezgoda Jed Niezgoda On arrival, a porch marks the principal entrance to the central block. Openings in the project are influenced by the pattern of openings on early 20th-century Irish farmhouses. Blind windows continue classical rhythms where it was not possible to make a window opening. Manhattan Condominium

This project in New York, was to overhaul a dated apartment and create a bright and more spacious feeling living space, making the most of views to Central Park and 56th Street. Improving the flow of space and increasing light levels was part of the brief. This was achieved by removing the existing internalised kitchen which was a cramped dark space by amalgamating it into the living space. A Snaidero customised kitchen was designed around services which could not be moved. Caulfield Wright Architects Now, the kitchen island has views to Central Park.
