Two Residencies in Paros

On a gently sloping site in Paros, two new single-storey residences are carefully embedded into the Cycladic landscape. Designed by Constantine Bouras Studio, the project occupies a plot of 11,060 sqm and explores how contemporary domestic architecture can coexist with the scale, materiality, and spatial logic of the island without resorting to literal references. Villa Mella Paros

Private house in Paros

The property is located in close proximity to the sea, but due to the nature of its topography, there is no direct view of it. The area has low grass and shrub vegetation and no existing natural protection from the sun. These factors, together with the investor’s wish for a house larger than the permitted above-ground construction on the island, are fundamental in the development of the project idea. On the Cycladic island of Paros, within an area under natural protection, the conversion of two degraded 8-room rental studio complexes into two quality holiday residences required careful renegotiations on several scales and architectural dials.
