Trinity New Intermediate School

The new Trinity Intermediate Elementary School opened in September 2024 to serve the growing Trinity Area School District. The new building, constructed as an addition to the Middle School, is serving grades 4 and 5. The school’s design integrated classroom-adjacent support spaces for team activities, pullout instruction, and small-group learning. NYC Universal Physical Education Program

Initiated through the NYC mayor’s office, the Universal Phys-Ed Initiative program targets existing schools that have no original indoor gymnasium but have an extensive outdoor play yard. A portion of the yard has been used to construct a stand-alone multi-purpose gym building, enabling students to have physical activity space year-round under all weather conditions. Maple Grove Elementary School

Under the Seismic Mitigation Program, and in collaboration with Montgomery Sisam Architects (MSA) from Toronto, SHAPE Architecture completed the Project Definition Report for the existing Maple Grove Elementary, which was approved by the Ministry of Education in March 2017 for a full replacement school. The team immediately embarked on facilitating numerous workshops with the school community including parents, teachers and students. The LEARNING TERRACES

BVS is undergoing a major expansion to increase enrollment from 800 to 3000 students, quadrupling the size of the campus within a tight and irregular site. The central challenge being how to incorporate the new program without decreasing the student to open space ratio. The solution organize and distribute programs in a way that creates large open spaces in the form of terraces at multiple levels.
