Butzbach Schrenzer School

A school’s gymnasiums must provide a safe and comfortable environment for children to play and develop in. The choice of acoustic ceiling materials is therefore of vital importance. The materials must absorb sound and spread light in the gymnasium, and at the same time they must be safe enough to withstand impact. Contrapanel ceiling and wall lining meets all these requirements. Within its robust gypsum core and foil-covered surface, Contrapanel is designed to meet the toughest requirements for impact resistance in accordance with DIN 18 032 (EN 13 964). The round perforations provide excellent sound absorption while the white surface ensures a pleasant light spreading in the gymnasium. More

Lørenskog Mall

At Lørenskog Shopping Mall in Norway, the objective has been to have a completely monolithic ceiling surface in the entire building. Thus, in the most frequented areas of the mall, Stratopanel with its organic, random perforation design was chosen to match the busy atmosphere of the shopping streets. In the calmer parts of the building, Solopanel was used as acoustical ceiling with special customised solution for the covering of bulkheads. In order to ensure a consistent, monolithic design all the way around the bulkhead covering, the Solopanels have been customised with V-cuts. This allowed for a smooth finishing around the edges of the bulkheads with no interruption of the perforation pattern. More

Private Residence Hjortevej

In modern homes, acoustic treatment may be just as necessary as in offices or classrooms. The Danish family at Hjortevej in Ans wanted their living rooms and kitchen area to be spacious and filled with daylight. This required large window sections and high ceilings which combined with minimalistic Scandinavian design often are synonymous of poor acoustics. The family at Hjortevej therefore chose to integrate the acoustic panel Designpanel Micro in the ceilings. Designpanel Micro has the advantage of having highly effective sound absorption as well as a discreet design that matches the interior design of the home. In addition, Designpanel is easily integrated with the rest of the drylining in the home, leaving a uniform, clean surface. More

Earport Studios

Previously, it was the sound of airplanes that resonated in Fornebu, the former Oslo airport. Now, one part of the renovated airport houses a recording studio called Earport Studios, headed by Dag Kolsrud. The old terminal building of Fornebu is transformed into a state-of-the-art music studio with bright rooms and a thought-out interior design to enhance the audiovisual experience. Earport Studio is a result of a close collaboration between Dag Kolsrud, who designed the studio himself, and the Norwegian Knauf Company, Norgips. Every part of the studio is designed out of the consideration for acoustics and movement of sound waves. No angles, curves, ceiling shapes or carpets are placed at random – they all serve as conscious choice... More
