“How can this new Aquatic Centre effectively train Olympians, serve its community, and enhance the student experience. How can it operate ‘learn-to-swim’ programs while at the same time run a 1000 person swim meet?" In 2012, UBC sent more swimmers to the London Olympic Summer Games than anywhere in Canada, and had the most successful swim team in the country. UPA Italia by Paolo Lettieri Architects and UPA, Urbanism Planning Architecture, entrusted with the project to build a prestigious and luxurious complex (for women only) in the United Arab Emirates
Milan, July 2020 - The first club dedicated exclusively to women was built in the splendid setting of Abu Dhabi, overlooking a lagoon in the crystal clear sea of the Persian Gulf. In the new club, luxury and comfort bear the signature of Urbanism Planining Architecture, an international architecture firm with offices in Milan and Abu Dhabi. The main architect of the Italian- Emirati firm and co-founder is the Italian architect Paolo Lettieri, along with CEO Iraqi architect Aswan Zubaidi.
