Extension of Valfabbrica cemetery
The enlargement of cemetery in Valfabbrica, an ancient city of medieval origin located in Umbria, Italy, is a project system closes towards the exterior and opens towards the interior of the existing complex, mediating the tombs with a loggia punctuated by large diameter columns, so as to make them perceived as a spatial device capable of functioning as a threshold that defines the sacredness of space.

The overall selection of materials and furniture aims to create a highly aesthetic space with a minimalist mood. For this reason, a small and strong palette of materials was used, such as wood in various tones, metal, as well as marble, on horizontal and vertical surfaces. OCULUM, the new reception of the Institute of Ocular Microsurgery of Madrid, seeks a link between the worlds of ophthalmology and architecture, which finds and unfolds its spatial narrative around optical devices, such as lenses, photometers, refractometers and microscopes.
OCULUM is designed as a visually technological space which processes, from the generation of the idea to its construction, are completely innovative and handcrafted, and made from a non-existent product on the market, manufactured by a metalworker in an industrial warehouse in the Madrid neighborhood of Tetuán.
