Chelsea Townhouse
A London home nestles neatly between two rows of terraces on a tight urban site within a historic conservation area. The old house required demolition in its entirety leaving just the party walls either side. The stucco façade was then faithfully rebuilt and enhanced in harmony with the street with the addition of a new porch. The site is a long narrow slot which becomes larger towards the middle of the plan. The proposal was to create a modern, light and efficient home, highly crafted, with an external courtyard at its centre.

Faraday House
For London’s commuters, travelling on the Victorian railway viaducts running along the south bank of the River Thames creates a moving stage set, revealing exciting perspectives of the urban fabric. The latest addition to this scene is Faraday House, clad in golden copper alloy – a golden bolt of energy announcing the regeneration of the iconic Battersea Power Station.

Bateman's Row with Ergofocus Suspended Fireplace

Theis and Khan is a London-based architecture group that designs everything from churches to shops, art galleries to health centers, offices to housing developments and more. One of their recent works was an expansive mixed-use building: 3 floors of commercial space with 4 residential units above. As it turns out, the exacting clients for this particular space were themselves. This project, known as Bateman’s Row, accommodates Theis and Khan’s office space, an art gallery and their family home in the units above.
