Hedges
Designed for a constrained Hollywood Hills site, Hedges transforms a compact footprint into a modern home where architecture and outdoor living unfold across multiple levels.
The home’s minimalist exterior reveals only glimpses of the light filled interior beyond, but once inside, the home opens up into a spacious light filled foyer with double height glass walls, a floating staircase, and glass floor detail that adds a sense of interconnectedness between the different levels.

Gower Mausoleum
Los Angeles’ iconic Hollywood Forever Cemetery has unveiled the first phase of its new vertical mausoleum, one that will eventually provide eternal housing for over 50,000 deceased Angelenos. Designed by award-winning, Los Angeles-based firm Lehrer Architects LA, led by AIA Los Angeles Gold Medalist, Michael B. Lehrer, FAIA and completed by Roberto Sheinberg’s Arquitectura y Diseño, this monumental addition will extend the life of the Cemetery another 50 years by ultimately adding 22,500 new crypt spaces, along with 30,000 niches for ashes, in a building that both enhances and celebrates the cemetery’s iconic cultural presence in the city. Marie-Eve Warren and Jeremy Garrett of the Los Angeles and Montreal-based boutique interior architecture studio Warren Garrett embarked on a delicate and refined re-interpretation of a very special historical residence located in the highly sought-after Malibu Colony in Malibu, California. The design duo was called upon by Developers and design enthusiasts Jason Rouse of Cross Creek Group andRick Margolis of Columbus Pacific to plan the top-to-bottom renovation of this collectible mid-century modern home, originally conceived in the 1970s by none other than the Los Angeles firm Buff and Hensman (Conrad Buff III and Donald C. Hensman).

Santa Monica Courtyard Houses
“Title 24” (California’s Building Energy Efficiency Standards) inspired the design of the net-zero homes. We see the state’s recently implemented code as an opportunity to reinvent the Southern California single family dwelling. While a midcentury Case Study-type glass house is still possible under Title 24, that home would require high embodied energy materials and consume lots of power, undermining the Energy Standards’ aims. Instead, the Santa Monica Courtyard Houses assume a different look and feel that is more suitable to current climate conditions.
