Unknown Works creates first exposed eucalyptus CLT structure: The Armadillo
London-based architecture and design studio Unknown Works has created the Armadillo, an experimental cross-laminated timber (CLT) pavilion for the 2024 London Festival of Architecture and Houghton Music & Arts Festival. The pavilion is the world’s first exposed eucalyptus CLT structure.

Enrico Molteni Architecture completes a timber and glass inclusive education center in Parma
Milan-based Enrico Molteni Architecture has completed the development of an inclusive education center in Parma, Italy. The center is the result of a collaboration between the University of Parma (UNIPR) and the Accademia dei Giorni Straordinari Foundation (the AGS Foundation promotes the “social inclusion of adolescents in fragile conditions”). The design comprises two interconnected and symmetrical buildings, each with a distinct purpose and a shared educational ethos: One building is a public facility that serves as a nursery and kindergarten — a “Childhood Hub” — for children aged 0 – 6 years, providing support for university employees and students. The 2023 Serpentine Pavilion is an invitation to gather around a table
The 2023 Serpentine Pavilion is a design by French-Lebanese Paris-based architect Lina Ghotmeh. Inspired by the architect’s Mediterranean heritage and memories of passionate discussions around the table, on everything from personal dreams and aspirations to current affairs, the Pavilion is aptly titled À table. It is described by Serpentine as “a French call to sit down together at a table to engage and participate in dialogue while sharing a meal.”

The Pitch by Mark Odom Studio repurposes shipping containers to form a vibrant new hub for Austin, Texas
Located in Austin, Texas, The Pitch is a new hospitality and entertainment complex made from shipping containers. Designed by Mark Odon Studio, the development forms part of a large sports venue and entertainment complex for Austin FC fans and the wider community.

The complex comprises 23 repurposed shipping containers of two standard modular sizes: 8 x 20 feet and 8 x 40 feet. The containers are stacked to create two storeys and then organized into five separate building pods. The once flat site is heavily landscaped to help the containers nestle and absorb the grade changes.
