Messner

The Messner Mountain Museum Firmian is located within the historic Sigmundskron Castle near Bolzano and represents a sensitive architectural intervention in a centuries-old structure. The project combines contemporary steel and glass architecture with the preserved historic fabric, creating a dialogue between past and present. Alexa Rainer Metall Ritten was responsible for the execution of complex steel and glass constructions integrated into the existing castle structure. The intervention required highly individual solutions, as no structural element was identical to another.
