Cherry Hills Residence

The existing main floor layout was compatible with the client’s desire for an open floor plan. A new second floor layout provided the freedom necessary to create new bedroom spaces, functional and central laundry, along with a stunning new master bedroom layout that includes a covered deck over the existing garage. As the existing home was showing its age, the dark and dreary exterior was clearly in need of a refresh. Removing and replacing the second floor was paramount in creating a more stately, upright façade. This also created the opportunity to raise the second floor, providing high ceilings throughout the main level. This offered relief from the original layout and added a more comfortable proportion to the open floor pl... More

Museum De Lakenhal

In addition, the conglomerate has been rebuilt again and again. Almost labyrinthine corridors were created, which sent the visitors through the different parts of the building in ever new ways. The primary goal of the 2013 architecture competition was to simplify ev... More

Jane Hope Residence

Exemplifying the versatility of Banker Wire’s architectural mesh in residential applications, designer and homeowner Jane Hope, incorporated an antique plated SZ-3 wire mesh within the design of her custom fireplace. Thoughtfully selected for its unique semi-transparent characteristics, the metal mesh compliments the honest, raw material design, creating a feature that is instantly recognized for its sleek form and striking aesthetic. Because the fireplace is the focal point in the center of the space, Jane Hope was looking for a material that would allow the light to pass through the top portion of the unit, while maintaining a similar visual heft that the other materials in the room—wood, concrete and stone—provide. She... More
