The foundations for the project was created as a part of the international competition „Contemporary House 2014 – Village House”. The work of Tomasz Padło and Michał Kucharski was awarded at the national stage in Poland. A family building that originally dates on XVII-XVIII centuries and which had suffered several interventions. The floor plan was used for many years as a blacksmith workshop, what gives to the building a special character. The apartment is located in a historic mansion of the early 20th century overlooking one of the oldest streets of Moscow.   The main task of the project was to preserve the original space of the main room of the apartment while having all the necessary functional areas in it: an entrance hall, a kitchen, a dining room, a living room, a guest bedroom, a storage room and a bathroom. The renovation project of the old storage of the wholesale liquor shop was built in 1911 in Ohara Isumi Chiba Japan. The shop was abandoned for some years and the storage also since the woman who was the mother of the owner was passed away.The storage was not good condition as some beams collapsing, pillars were eaten by termites or leaning. It was impossible to start using directly. And, The local government which the storage belong to has the problem of increasing abandoned houses. The local government has already been Semi-GENKAI SHURAKU (It means the population of some village is more than half of the people living in the village are over the age of 55.). A residential private house for preservation that has been re-designed and planed anew in the old city of Safed. The web of crowded housing of old stone buildings in the old quarter of Safed is a complex context dictating a dialogue between the old and the new, between preservation and renewal and between the traditional and the trendy. The house is an old stone building, built in the shape of the Hebrew letter "Chet" , surrounding and inner courtyard.
