St. Minas House renovation realizes the potential of its connection to the sea
Located near the small village of St Minas, Greece, and overlooking the Euboea Sea, this summer house renovation by Neiheiser Argyros opens up to the landscape in all directions. In particular, two large shallow concrete arches orient the main living spaces towards the sea.

From the approach road, the house appears to disappear into olive groves and wild pines forests but opens up across two stories to embrace the full extent of the seafront views. Extensive terraces around the house create a multi-level network of outdoor living rooms.

Due to the project site which has the history of hundred years, the design process is created in harmony with the Tomb’s environment form. Utilizing the brick material (in Fakhro modins configuration) at tomb complex, led the design to a brick cube with hollow surfaces. This very personal 5200 s.f. custom home was designed for a wooded 2.5 acre site with beautiful views of the Colorado front range for a couple with many unique lifestyle requests. After living for years in central London, they were looking forward to the prospect of enjoying their newly expansive open spaces and views, and yet concerned about maintaining the quaint, cozy comfortableness of their previous home.
