In 1973, the Gujarat United School of Theology embarked on the construction of a modest library and cultural centre spanning two hundred and sixty square meters. Originally intended to house a specialized book collection and serve as a communal space for small gatherings, the project took an unexpected turn during its development. In 2014 major floods hit eastern Croatia causing, among casualties, catastrophic damage to infrastructure, including football one. Croatian Football Federation together with World (FIFA) and European (UEFA) Football Federation gathered funds for reconstruction of 5 football fields in villages Posavski Podgajci, Drenovci, Račinovci, Strošinci and Gunja with a new stadium in Gunja which, today, represents a crown of the entire reconstruction. The clients - a South African born couple that returned to Cape Town after residing abroad for two decades approached us to design them a permanant residencie that would be entriely in touch with nature, be simple and unique with the emphasis on natural light and space. They were specific with their brief for a home that allowed for maximum sunlight to be captured and filtered throughout the house by the day, invite the unobscured view into their home whilst maintaining maximum privacy. These live-work townhouses are located on a quiet street in Toronto’s rapidly densifying Riverdale neighbourhood. The project was separated into two phases. Phase 1, towards the South end of the block, consists of five deep units each with a mezzanine studio and an interior garden. Phase 2, towards the North end, consists of five shallower units and is serviced by a laneway at the rear.The townhouse blocks are developed on two existing, vacant, industrial properties separated by a residential building inbetween. The Hill House in KodaiA small hill town which is over 2000m above the sea level, located in southern part of India.
