New institute building for machine learning
The four-storey building is located on the north-west boundary of a large science and technology park. The structure serves as the starting point for a chain of distinct urban blocks, creating a gradual transition between the large-scale research buildings and the low-density detached housing area to the west. To the north, the building opens onto the surrounding field landscape.
Research facilities for machine learning have been established here as part of the University of Tübingen’s Excellence Strategy. Prefabricated in a serial production process, the timber modular structure was completed within a mere seven months.

Living Module
Livingmodule is the result of research carried out in collaboration with Slovenian studio OFIS of Ljubljana, AKT II of London, C+ C of Macerata and contractor Permiz to develop a self-supporting wooden unit that could be flexible and adaptable to all types of contexts, climatic conditions and terrain.

The Livingmodule project was presented in Milan at the first edition of Inhabits- Milano design village, in Parco Sempione, during Milan Design Week.

Trus(s)tool Wall
Trus(s)tool Wall is a transformable modular furniture set in Muroto Whale Museum at Kochi prefecture.This display showcase is an assembly of modular units named Truss Stool, and works also as a screen to prevent direct sunlight to the space.The stool units are made by Hinoki cypress from the region which has the characteristic of high content of oils providing high elasticity in the material. Assembly of the small cells forms a three dimensional truss wall which obtains a strong structural stability.
