Kitchener, Ontario, originally known as Berlin, is a city in the Waterloo Region of Southern Ontario, Canada. Founded by German Mennonite settlers in the early 19th century, it was named Berlin in 1833, reflecting its strong German heritage. The city thrived as an industrial and manufacturing hub throughout the 19th and early 20th centuries. It was later renamed Kitchener and has since grown into a vibrant, urban center.

An Archello Awards 2023 Finalist, the Pikes Peak Summit Visitor Center by GWWO Architects (design architect) and RTA Architects (architect of record) responds to its breathtaking surroundings by preserving viewsheds, treading lightly on the land, and emphasizing environmental protection. Situated in the grand mountains of Colorado at an elevation of 14,155 feet (4314 m), it is the highest visitor center in the world and, as such, required careful, meticulous design planning and execution.

NetZero Rowhouse
NetZeroRowHouse began as two architects designing and building a home for their family in the Capitol Hill / H Street neighborhood of Washington DC. A simple notion about adding solar panels started the journey to create a Net Zero Row House.

The original 1925 brick rowhouse was completely reconstructed and expanded. The front façade and porch were retained to preserve the character of the street. A third-floor addition, for the principal suite and home office, is setback from the existing roof line, creating a private roof deck. Jenson-DeLeeuw Net-Zero Energy House
Live and drive off the sunThis comfortable home, integrated into its natural setting in Harvard, Massachusetts, is fully powered by the sun with energy to spare for the owners’ electric car, kudos to a photovoltaic solar energy system by LG and two Sonnen batteries that manage energy intermittency. Passive design principles keep the house temperate year-round: deep overhangs shield interiors from overexposure and overheating, while open floor plans and high ceilings allow natural ventilation and airflow throughout.
