Lahznimmo Architects creates refined and minimal architectural “storehouse” for Powerhouse Museum

In 2018, Sydney-based design studio Lahznimmo Architects was commissioned by Create NSW (a governmental arts and culture body in New South Wales) to design an innovative new storage facility for the Powerhouse Museum’s collection. The result is a refined and minimal architectural “storehouse” built in shimmering aluminum and raw concrete. Rory Gardiner Rory Gardiner Powerhouse is the largest museum group in Australia. Cahill Park and Amenities Café serves as a cocoon-like gateway to the surrounding park and beyond

The Cahill Park and Amenities Café in Cahill Park, New South Wales, is a new recreational destination for the Wolli Creek area. Designed by Architects Hayball, the new facility serves as a gateway to the surrounding park and beyond. Michael Nicholson The building design draws its form and materiality from the site conditions that surround it. The cocoon-like form provides both a visual and aural refuge for the café, shielding park users from the nearby Princes Highway while at the same time opening up in the other direction to the Cooks River vista.
