As a startup in NFT business, the client needed an offline space for activities such as exhibiting and selling NFT products. Próżność (eng. "Vanity") Club is a historic space with an area of 500 msq, located in a large historic building from the 30s in the center of the city of Poznan. Building is listed in the city monuments register, so as designers we could not interfere with the construction elements inside. We've sorted the space by demolishing the partition walls so that the rooms correspond to the appropriate function. A long, wide corridor leads to the cloakroom, VIP room, cocktail room with a small dance hall, toilets, a large historic ballroom and the necessary technical rooms. The project starts from a great challenge, to preserve the identity of the existing bar hidden behind its back door and merge it with the new project. The existent restaurant & bar, Victoria Brown, has a british steampunk identity, that has nothing to do with the new project.The superposition of identities had to respect the current hidden bar identity, achieving an integration with the new project. The Lux building is an ancient port warehouse, one of the first buildings in reinforced concrete structure of the waterfront, an engineer project with a structural concept for the 20's.Converting this space into a theater, dance, art events and rendezvous points, it was the point of departure for a project whose program also asked for a sufficient neutrality in the final project, allowing to constitute as the ideal place for all kinds of plastic and artistic intervention, from exhibitions to chromatic intervention, from facilities to the sounds, from lighting intervention to video projections. The brief was to create an iconic, luxurious design that focused on intimate VIP areas, whilst still keeping a space that flowed naturally. The Club needed to have a memorable and glamorous style, with various exciting and ‘Instagramable’ features. The venue regularly showcases live performances and DJ sets from some of the newest, most talented artists in music, and hosts acts that span many genres — from indie rock to electronic, tribute acts, jam bands, pop, and more. Coda features large unobstructed wall space, soaring ceilings, and a unique “Victorian meets Industrial” design scheme. The venue is modular and adaptable while measuring in over 12,000 square feet with multiple areas that can be divided into smaller, more intimate spaces. More
