Office buildings

The historical building was constructed in 1972 at the northern part of Athens. An earthquake-active region of Greece. 12000sq m in a 30.000 sq m pine tree forest. It was designed by one of the most accomplished Greek architects Alexandros Tombazis and it’s one of the rare cases of the brutalist movement in Greece. The building was built under a private command of the largest Greek reinforced concrete company named Aget Iraklis that was recently bought by the largest reinforced concrete company in the world (Lafarge Holcim). Piramit Architects had designed the research and development centre for Kordsa Global's composite Technologies, which is located within the Teknopark Istanbul area. It is a mixed-use building consisting of laboratories and offices where research and development projects can be carried on.Considering its technical functions, the prismatic massive form of the structure can be thought of as a heavy piece of machine placed on the ground. The selection of dark coloured reflective glass and coated metal claddings and the hefty mass also enhances this perception.The building has a closed area of 17.000 m2 on a rectangular plot of 6.200 m2. Forum Schoenbrunn: a mix of multifunctional office building and two residential blocks –achieving first place at a procedure for calling in expert opinion. Winning a competition is a fine basis for a challenging project. Thanks to the good cooperation with the proprietor we were able to cope with challenges during the implementation and had the possibility to carry out our ideas in a productive way. We are proud of the final product – the “jewel” creates bonding with the castle Schoenbrunn on the opposite side. He gives the users panorama view.
