Opera di Roma, stage design for Tosca and Turandot
In celebration of the centenary of Giacomo Puccini's death, the 2024 Caracalla Festival honored the composer with two new productions of Tosca and Turandot, running from the Summer Season. For the first time in their career, architects Doriana and Massimiliano Fuksas took on the task of designing the stage for the grand opera. Their vision expertly fused the ancient and the contemporary, paying tribute to the historic Baths of Caracalla, the venue for these performances.

Nancy Opera Culture House
There are cities that are not written in street grids but in cultural vibrations. Nancy is one such city. Its history is not merely a sequence of centuries but a musical manuscript, in which landscape, infrastructure, and architecture form the staves of a grander score.
At the heart of this symphonic topography arises the project of the Opera and Concert Hall, gently inscribed into the urban fabric by TCA. This gesture is not to be imagined as heroic, but rather what Roland Barthes might have called a light touch—a cultural movement that does not shout, but hums.

SPF:architects (SPF:a), an award-winning studio based in Culver City, has released new renderings of their design for the Anaheim Performing Arts Center (APAC), located in Anaheim, California. The images reveal the complete scheme of the $500 million, 500,000-square-foot cultural campus, which is anticipated to become a world-class destination for the performing arts.APAC will replace Anaheim’s City National Grove, introducing an 11-acre program defined by three theatres—a 2,000-seat concert hall, a 1,700-seat opera hall, a 600-seat black box theatre—and a museum tower with observatory set upon 24-foot podium.
