Fairsing Vineyard

Designed to honor the Irish heritage of its owners, Fairsing Winery creates a tasting experience shaped by history, landscape, and craft. The building aligns with a seven-circuit circular labyrinth, a form long associated with reflection and spirituality. This radial geometry informs the entire plan, creating a sense of harmony and quiet intentionality as guests move through the space. Courtesy of Studio Good The structure’s concrete walls echo the ancient stone dwellings found in the hills of Ireland. In a gesture of sustainable craft, the wood used to board-form those exterior concrete walls was repurposed for the tasting room’s interior cabinetry. A living sod roof reinforces the building’s earthy presence and hel... More

Filson Flagship New York

Founded in 1897 to meet the needs of prospectors travelling through Seattle on their way to the Klondike Gold Rush, Filson is rooted in over 100 years of Pacific Northwest history. The brand now designs, manufactures, and sells men’s and women’s outdoor clothing, accessories, and luggage. Ridge View for Holland America/Princess

This project consists of a three story, 99 room addition to the 460 room McKinley Chalets Resort, a Holland America property located at Denali National Park. Our work began with site selection and master-planning efforts, leading to the role of design architect on the shell scope and full interior design services. The structure is sited to take advantage of Mount Healy views and sits adjacent to a natural grade change, creating the opportunity for a second floor entry via pedestrian bridge. This ensures that guests, many of them elderly, are no more than one level away from their room. Massing of the structure is essentially split in half, with the two halves subtly bent in order to reduce apparent scale. This break creates a ‘conflue... More

View Ridge

Located on an eastern sloping parcel above Lake Washington, our primary design directive was to capture abundant lake and mountain views – taking into consideration possible future down-slope home construction with potential to impede the view. Caption Caption Caption The design solution places living spaces on the top floor, guaranteeing the view in perpetuity, and shifts the upper and lower level floor-plans in order to create a roof terrace off of the living and dining spaces. Garage and support spaces are placed below-grade, with a high floor-to-floor height that places the entry flush with grade at the high portion of the site. A 15ft grade change from sidewalk to front door is mitigated by generous, shifting stai... More
