Two Residencies in Paros
On a gently sloping site in Paros, two new single-storey residences are carefully embedded into the Cycladic landscape. Designed by Constantine Bouras Studio, the project occupies a plot of 11,060 sqm and explores how contemporary domestic architecture can coexist with the scale, materiality, and spatial logic of the island without resorting to literal references.

The two houses are placed in contact with one another, forming a unified architectural composition articulated through eight distinct volumes. Their arrangement emerges directly from the natural slope of the terrain. The volumes shift back and forth in plan and step subtly in sect... More

Patrico
A square dome and a pillar that supports it, bearing its weight and its emptiness. In the beginning, everything was space, light, dense time slipping through the windows and imprinting itself on every wall.
A staircase, a threshold that welcomes, the bench turning into a kitchen, one thing leading to another, space flowing. While the functions dissolve, the construction becomes unified.

Weight is expressed in every corner: from the mineral density of the floor to the supports of the roof. The house is a home, and domesticity is the leitmotif of the project.
House and home. Domesticity that shapes the space: a niche to lie in, a low light floating above the tabl... More

Louria
The plot is in the southern part of Paros Island. It has a southwest orientation on the long side, overlooking the sea, the bay of Aliki, and Antiparos. The building rests on the hillside and adapts to the topography and the terrain's morphology. Large transverse walls penetrate the slope. These walls form the backyards and give continuity to the interior of the house towards the landscape.

Private house in Paros
The property is located in close proximity to the sea, but due to the nature of its topography, there is no direct view of it. The area has low grass and shrub vegetation and no existing natural protection from the sun. These factors, together with the investor’s wish for a house larger than the permitted above-ground construction on the island, are fundamental in the development of the project idea.

The house is completely sunken into the ground and consists of 13 modules with a square-shaped plan that are combined in different ways to create a spatial organization. The modules are divided into residential units and patio units with the basic principle being that each residential unit has at least one adjacent patio. Th... More

Parīlio, a Member of Design Hotels
Interior Design Laboratorium discovers the island of Paros and presents a holistic design for Parilio, a member of Design Hotels, a project inspired by the stripped splendor of Cycladic architecture, the pure land of Paros island and the unique light of the sun.
“Helios, my Sun, let me shine in the echo of your gold light”
Located among the green meadows and the island reeds, next to the famous Kolympithres beach, Parilio - “the sun’s aura” - gets its name from the bright, sunlike optical illusion, often on a luminous ring or halo, caused by sunlight passing through ice crystals in the upper atmosphere. The overwhelming feeling that is provoked by the enchanting spectacle of sunligh... More
