Praterstern
The office building lies on the edge of bustling Praterstern square and traffic circle in the immediate vicinity of Vienna Prater, the most attractive open space resource in the city.
The eight-storey building is organized into two main building volumes – one running along the railway tracks, the other along Nordbahnstrasse. The forms are bridged by clasp-like transparent spaces which house the main circulation area and meeting rooms, intended as flexible areas for informal communication and socializing. Revitalization ÖBB Offices Vienna
Together with the architecture studio of Günter Mohr we developed a new three dimensional corrugated façade as an update to the old office building.
The building from the 60ies was redesigned and newly equipped to provide a contemporary working environment for 305 employees.
The Austrian Railway Company ÖBB was aming to gather their facilities around the Viennese Praterstern, aligning with an internal reorganization of the company. Therefore the former high-quality office building from the 60ies needed a redesign to fit the standards of contemporary working environments.
