Remodelling

This project; located in Armação de Pêra, Algarve, Portugal; consists in a full remodelling of an existing apartment, for which the client had very precise ideas and several most unusual requirements to be fulfilled. Despite the fact that the apartment is considerably small, it gathers the conditions for a small family to live all its programmatic areas comfortably, without threatening the hypotheses of various and simultaneous types of use, overcoming the needs of its dwellers. The long and colorful history of Haapsalu Castle began in the 13th century, when it was built. Since the 17th century the main castle has been in ruins.   The conservation and renovation design has resulted in a journey along the walls and within the castle, inviting the guests to take a look at the castle structure and the picturesque town of Haapsalu from an unusual vantage point high above, and to experience the medieval environment from another level. We were invited to participate in a project of revitalization of the headquarters of T-Mobile Poland S.A. Our task was to design and coordinate the work in the heart of the building, which employs about 2,000 people. The whole task was realized in less than two months. After a thorough analysis of the building, communication, habits and needs of employees and the addition of a company culture, we have developed a number of places to meet, work, educate and selfdevelopment. Every place got a friendly name (eg.: EDU, HUB, SUN, GYM, FUN, BAR, NYC, EAT).All atypical furniture were created in the studio A+D, resulting in important savings of time and money.We have used simple tools (sounds, colours, lights, stylizations etc. for great effect.The... The Mill House is a Grade II listed property located in Shalford village Conservation Area. The house is set within a generous 6-acre plot with stunning views adjacent to ‘Shalford Mill’, an 18th Century watermill with Grade II * listing. The Client’s brief was to extend and remodel the house at ground floor to provide a light filled kitchen dining area that would open out to maximize the potential of the beautiful garden. The design concept is based on a sketch of the house circa 1836 that shows a cluster of pitched roof forms which have been removed over time.
