CGM Club Giovanile Milano – Milan, IT

In the Certosa District – located in the north-west of Milan, an area undergoing a major regeneration project promoted by RealStep and today Milan’s most vibrant gastronomic hub – stands an early 20th-century villa that has been many things over time: a slaughterhouse, a squat, a forgotten fragment of the city. Today, it is Club Giovanile Milano, a space that brings together dining, a listening bar, and live music. The project, promoted by RealStep, stems from the idea of bringing fresh energy into the district and was entrusted to co.arch studio (arch. Andrea Pezzoli, arch. Giulia Urciuoli), who embraced a clear challenge: to preserve the historic character of the villa without taming it, and instead highlight it through... More

Hook & Line

Located in Boston's Seaport District, with a rich history of shipping and fishing, Tom Schlesinger's latest restaurant, Hook + Line, draws inspiration from the surrounding neighborhood. Designed by the team at RUHL | JAHNES Architects, the design sets out to mirror the Seaport District's history and the seafood restaurant's connection to the ocean through subtle references embodying the neighborhood's spirit. The goal for the restaurant's design was to be cozy and warm, like one would expect from a residence, with a strong sense of modern architecture. To achieve this, tile and other fixed materials form an understated backdrop of blueish-green hues, with aged reclaimed wood slats that accent the long back wall. Within the wood slats, gaps... More

The Meat and Wine Co., Sydney. Restaurant Design – Australia.

The concept of the Castlereagh store brings together the prosperity of the Australian gold rush era with the diverse culture of Africa, creating a remarkable dining experience that is both elevated and familiar. The source of the gold inspiration is the Golden Rhinoceros of Mapungubwe, a magnificent wooden sculpture covered in thin sheets of gold that was created in the Kingdom of Mapungubwe in South Africa. This symbol represents the combination of physical power and wealth that is embodied in the region. COOOP. Gold feverWith the discovery of gold in New South Wales in 1851 the trajectory of Australian history was forever changed. Australia became a melting pot of fortune seekers from the four corners of the earth risking it al... More

Restaurant Kiang

The restaurant Kiang, located in a historic building in the center of Vienna, was designed by Helmut Richter in 1984. At the time of its opening it represented a radically new approach to interior design, especially compared to the dominant style of Chinese restaurants with dark wood and red lampions.Although it lacked the traditional Viennese „Gemütlichkeit“, it expressed a new sensitivity and became immediately an architectural icon. 34 years later the owners hired architects Tillner & Willinger for the remodelling of the historic room, contemporary illumination and the design of an extension. The new central room features the atmosphere of a dining kitchen where guests can watch the preparation of cold dishes. A new... More

Masonry

After designing the furniture for the Masonry’s original Queen Anne location, the client engaged the Collaborative team again to help create a new restaurant space in the heart of Fremont. Located in the brand new Tableau building on N 34th Street, the 4,300 square foot space offers an ideal environment for the wood-fired pizza and beer-centric restaurant. The Collaborative team was brought on the project before the building was built which allowed for greater design flexibility. The major elements of the space including the wood-fired pizza oven, kitchen and bar with custom keg storage, were put in place before completion and act as the building blocks for the restaurant’s layout. The L-shaped restaurant is divided up into stations including... Champagne Brown Acrylic Crystal Bead Curtain Installation

This Champagne Brown Acrylic Crystal Bead Curtain was created for the ‘Champagne Lounge’ at the Grand Cayman Island prestigious Car Museum in affiliation with London based Interior designer and Gallery Owner David Genty (http://www.genty.co.uk/). Here we have used various shapes of acrylic crystal beads all the while in keeping with the prominent color theme champagne in order to stay true to the essence of this space. Not only do the bead curtains here lend a sense of richness, warmth, royalty & depth, but they also help segregate the area from the larger museum creating a sense of privacy. The Red Acrylic Crystal Bead Curtain is an ‘Uneven Spread Design’. Acrylic Colored Crystals come in various colors and sizes. Different c... More
