Church of La Visitation
The oldest church on the Island of Montreal, La Visitation Church was built at the Sault-au-Récollet rapids on the northern edge of the island between 1749 and 1752.
Over the generations, many elements of the interior decoration of the church have been modified or replaced by different craftsmen and architects. The most recent changes date from the 1950s, when reforms to the liturgy brought transformations to the physical configuration of many churches. The furniture was modified, and a more colourful vision of the interiors was realized. The church building was classified as a cultural asset in 1974 and the complete property was declared a protection area in 1975 by the province of Quebec.

In the city center of Pantin near Paris, a 1935 building has been ingeniously converted into a specialty coffee shop and roastery by the Italian-Mexican architectural design firm Office Abrami Rojas.
The architects with a fondness for existing buildings with a story to tell didn’t think twice : the interior design project became a restoration project.

Antonio Raso + Alejandro B. Galán + César Egea restore the historic Torre de la Cabrilla Watchtower
Located at a geo-strategic site with views of the area, royal road and streams of La Vega, Guadalbaida, and the fords by the Guadazuheros, Torre de Cbrilla is a historic watchtower formerly built for security purposes. The restoration project by Antonio Raso, Alejandro B. Galán and César Egea seek to revive the tower through minimal interventions and landscaping.

The structure comprises two floors and a terrace based on a practical square plan of 6.7x7.32m. Masonry and stone slabs form the loadbearing structure with buttresses of rope and blight ashlars. Additionally, all four sides showcase cruciform engravings.

David Chipperfield complete renovation of Venice’s Procuratie Vecchie on the Piazza San Marco
In 2017, David Chipperfield’s Milan studio won the commision for the renovation of the Procuratie Vecchia, a historic landmark on the north side of Venice’s Piazza San Marco. After five years of work, the building is now accessible to the public for the first time in 500 years.
