Pilgrim's Guesthouse
The new Guesthouse-Hermitage is located within the Monastic Complex of Siloe, which spans an area of 38,000 square meters across a network of hilly pathways. The four living units, designated as external guest accommodations for occasional visitors to the Siloe community, are seamlessly integrated into the natural terrain and have been constructed without altering the surrounding landscape, pioneering a new form of sustainable living.

Rough meets refined at Moscow’s Roma House
Designed by buro511 in a forested area on the outskirts of Moscow, Roma House is a place for a busy media manager to be alone with nature and relax. A truly custom design, the house addresses the client’s ambivalence between desiring a contemporary house of luxury with high-end finishes, and a rustic, earthy cabin. The design process became very much an exercise in selecting materials.

Horse stable dramatically transformed into a temporary retreat for a photographer
In Benidorm, Spain, Las Cuadras Retreat Home is a renovation of an old horse stable into a temporary retreat for a photographer and his large animals. The essential concept of the renovation by estudio ji architects is a space protected by a ‘synthetic tree’ that shelters, provides shade and recreates the essence of a small forest.
