Naya Beach Bar & Restaurant sits directly on Faliraki Beach in Rhodes, Greece. The idea was simple: good living through natural materials, natural colours and light. The design steps away from the familiar boho and ethnic beach styles and looks instead to the island’s Italian architectural heritage, translating domes, arches and soft wave forms into contemporary organic shapes. The architectural design of AKRES restaurant, undertaken by Minas Kosmidis Architects near the Acropolis of Lindos, seamlessly integrates the past and present, tradition and the modernized image of the island. The design spans an area of 200 square meters, with the existing shell of the building kept intact to accommodate the contemporary approach of the interior. The primary goal was the perfect harmonization of the restaurant with the landscape, achieved through the selection of rough surfaces, earthy colors, and warm lighting that embody the essence of Lindos. The five-star hotel complex in the Greek island of Rhodes strongly demonstrates its influence from nature and the flowing shapes of the water. A single main, connection of the central building to the outdoor dining and entertainment areas leading to the beach was the primary design concept for the architectural composition which arranged the components of the complex. The main connection concerns a natural route, a corridor which is familiar to the visitors during the summer period and it is marked by orthogonal gates. Overlooking the Aegean blue, the architectural canvas allows the synthetic choices to develop freely a synthesis that can create a special, kind of futuristic, hotel complex in Ialysos, Rhodes. Nine luxurious storeys are raised in absolute symmetry.
