Located steps from the Atlantic Ocean on Long Island, Surf Shack is a refined interpretation of the suburban American Dream. This project involved the renovation of an existing traditional cottage and the addition of a pool and a guest/pool house. Paul Rivera Photography Paul Rivera Photography Redesign of the 1,500 square foot shingle-style cottage raised the roof, created a more open floor plan that placed bunk-beds for 8 kids within the center with a walkway around the perimeter and introduced more natural light. An above-ground lap pool, made of a subtle pink Corian perches in the landscape, picking up the hue of the sky at dawn and dusk. A silver Airstream PanAmerica travel trailer serves as a guest house and pool house.... More
