Canada Science and Technology Museum
As you approach the Canada Science and Technology Museum, the Ceramitex® Sintered Ceramic Facade System by Elemex provides a beautiful white surface that effortlessly amalgamates with the intricate angles of the building elevations and roof while doubling as a 250-foot long projection screen. The system was integral in the ability to include a lighting package within the walls and for the non-typical panels and mitered corners.
In 2015, NORR was tasked with an ambitious schedule to complete renovations for the Canada Science and Technology Museum in time for Canada’s sesquicentennial celebrations in 2017. PIERRE BLEU
The 12 mm Arklam Super Size Collection incorporates another classic, Pierre Bleu. Inspired by the natural stone of Belgian origin known as the ‘little granite’, Pierre Bleu is a simple and apparently neutral ceramic proposal in which slight traces of marine fossils can be appreciated. Right there, apart from the depth of its tone, lies its originality. This quality, together with the use of the most avant-garde technology, allow us to enjoy today a model with a high degree of realism and an unsurpassable definition. Due to its resistance, lightness and durability, Pierre Bleu is a material suitable not only for kitchen countertops but also for covering counters, partitions, tables, doors and all types of furniture. Palisandro is a faithful reproduction of the marble in which it is inspired, one of the most appreciated in the world for its shortage and value. The richness of its tones, originated by a subtle degradation of blues and greys, together with the tiny golden tones and its spectacular brightness make this model a unique creation. However, Palisandro is exceptional for having an ‘end match 180º’ finish, both in 6 mm and 12 mm, as the design of the piece allows to create an infinite effect alternating successively a piece in the original position with another piece with a 180º turn. In this way, the visual continuity that can be obtained... More
