Casa AF2

Casa AF2 is a small 35 sqm apartment in the historic center of Camogli, designed as a seaside retreat for a family of three. The narrow, deep plan, typical of Ligurian homes, opens towards the coast like a telescope, culminating in two sea-front windows that become large eyes on the landscape. The sea thus becomes part of the project: the sight, light and sound of the waves become a constant presence inside the house. An efficient environment, with a strong identity and surprising comfort. Mahani Siqueira Juliana is 28 years old and leads an intense routine. KUBO HOUSE

For the architect Alvaro Rojas Vio, the construction of Kubo was an opportunity to deepen his commitment to the environmental development of the seaside town of Tongoy, proposing an urban element that could deliver aesthetic value to the town. This project had to address four challenges: a small plot of land, of only 400 square meters; to provide the clients with a spectacular view of the sea in spite of tall buildings nearby; a south-facing orientation, which required a strategy to provide light and heat; and to respond to a limited budget.
