Casa-AB10

The Jerónimos neighbourhood, with its rich history and the presence of landmarks such as the Retiro Park and the Jerónimos Church, suggests a strong connection to Madrid's history and culture. In this context, the architectural project ‘Casa AB10’, which seeks to be a ‘Madrid house’ in its layout, is aligned with an approach that respects and reflects the legacy of the surroundings while adopting a modern design. Alberto Amores   The main materials used have been oak wood for carpentry and flooring, only the areas affected by the demolition have been changed, leaving the traces of the partition walls visible, using the same existing material, and for the bathroom areas, porcelain and natural... Residential Jerez de la Frontera

Mediterranean house in old bodegaThe Andalusian architects Iniesta Nowell Architectos have converted a former bodega in Jerez de la Frontera into an airy, Mediterranean townhouse. Due to the favourable climatic conditions and the interior spaces protected by walls, it was possible to dispense with highly insulating glazing for the large windows and double doors. Iniesta Nowell Architectos found the most suitable system with the Jansen Art'15 steel profile. © Rafael Iniesta Nowell © Rafael Iniesta Nowell © Rafael Iniesta Nowell More

OOIIO Architecture OOIIO Architecture Team designed a this building as a shell, an envelope that creates a void inside, protecting occupants from the sun and rain. OOIIO Architecture This envelope will rise as necessary to configure two heights in the occupied day area, then it will descend one height in the occupied night area as well as the garage. The envelope extends towards the street and the patio to provide shade creating a pleasant porch facing the garden. OOIIO Architecture The interior will be functional, comfortable and reasonably priced while still using durable materials. OOIIO Architecture More

Apartment Renovation in Murcia

This spacious apartment is located in a building from the 60s facing the Mediterranean Sea and the owners wanted to carry out a complete renovation project.  Javier de Paz OOIIO Architecture design team decided several strategic changes in the interior distribution, which served to ensure a better and more functional home use. Javier de Paz The real protagonists of the project are the beautiful recycled antique furniture that is distributed through the house. It was the typical dark wook furniture with shapes and dimensions from the last century, with great sentimental value for the owners. Javier de Paz Those pieces were repared and laquered in pure white, reflecting light and filling the interiors with joy and lumin... More

Exhibition Design for Calder-Picasso

How to design an international exhibition showing the work of two of the most important Art Masters on XXth century, Alexander Calder and Pablo Riuz Picasso. That is a great challenge as architects.  Josefotoinmo OOIIO Architecture team went through this commission with a very clear idea: the artist were already there, the exhibition design must be very discret and specially thinked to enhalce the great art works. Josefotoinmo The decission was to group then into "exhibition sets" and distribute through the Picasso Malaga Museum spaces all the pieces in such a way that the over 300.000 visitors from all around the world that had this exhibition, were able to understand how this two masters worked on concepts like the void,... Trillo House

Trillo House is a mix of traditon and contemporaneity for for a family that moved from Barcelona to the countryside. Caption They wanted to flee from a city life where they were no longer comfortable to a more natural and quiet location in a small village in Central Spain. Caption Trillo House looks like a strong horizontal stone prism pierced by flared concrete holes creating variety and giving strong personality to the building. Caption This stone prism is "floating" over a glass box since the ground floor façade is completely made of mirror glass, to imporve the interior-exterior spatial relationship. OOIIO Architecture The house has a very contemporary design, although its distribution around a central pat... More

VAL House

This house is located on a cleary residential area, consisting of blocks of row houses, all equal and repetitive, in Madrid outskirts. Javier de Paz OOIIO Architecture Team designed this house betting on singularity, it cannot be otherwise, for breaking those repetitive chains through this small exception: VAL House, concieved as a rupture within a world of aligned shawls produced in serie. Javier de Paz The facade material is choosen to avoid repeating the brick used all around this site. The volumes are carefully composed to pop up like an interesting object on this arid landscape. Javier de Paz Interiors are functional and full of natural light. Everything is compact and thought for the client daily life, making from VA... More

GAS House

The project of this house came up when the architects tried to introduce natural light everywhere in a not very big plot, in a corner between two quiet streets in a village in Central Spain.  Josefotoinmo OOIIO Architecture team located four patios, designed and strategically placed in the plot to act as four light wells, four natural ventilation distributors.  Josefotoinmo Josefotoinmo From the outside the house is discret and clean, you don´t get the perception that it has 2 floors, one of them is under the street level, to get more fresh and a easier climate control. Josefotoinmo Josefotoinmo Only once you get into the house you can discover the spatial richness and the big amount of material g... More

Quart

When URLO arrived at the apartment on Quart Street for the first time, they found themselves in an inhospitable, dark, and poorly compartmentalized space. The existing windows were tiny in proportion to the façade and the interior spaces. The complex geometry of its enclosure, organized in diagonal planes, and of its irregular structure, presented a major challenge in creating a comfortable and habitable space. In order to bring in light and a coherent structure to the apartment, URLO began by proposing a large diaphanous and well-lit space in the central area of the apartment which would house the living room, dining room, and kitchen.  The exposed concrete structure helped them to separate the kitchen and dining area from th... La Coquina cerveceria

This Spanish cuisine restaurant serves shellfish dishes as main menu. It is located on the upper floor of a newly built commercial building in the middle of Shibuya, one of the representative cities in Japan.  The design identity of this restaurant comes from the “Shellfish”. From this inspiration, we converted this image to the materials, patterns and forms. What is more, by enhancing the details of the Cataluña culture in Spain, which is deeply related to the sea, we have generated an extraordinary atmosphere, so- called the trinity of “Shellfish”, “Spain” and the “Sea”.  From the keyword “Shellfish”, no two shellfish here are alike and by focusing on how they look w...
