The briefCplusC was engaged to replace a dated house in Sydney’s Northbridge with a comfortable new modern home for a family of four. The owners wanted a sustainable and energy-efficient home that celebrated the sparkling Middle Harbour and golf course views. The design brief specified protected and private outdoor living and dining spaces, and a kitchen with a walk-in pantry. The owners wanted a heated swimming pool with swim jets and its own bathroom and steam room. They needed a main bedroom with ensuite, two bedrooms for the children and a guest room. HYDRO Building: Where water, innovation, and education flow together
Located on the CSU Spur Camus at the National Western Center (Colorado State University), the HYDRO Building by Architect Hord Coplan Macht (HCM) and Smith Group as Associate Architect is a water-inspired facility created to offer experiential learning opportunities to visitors of all ages.

The unique facility teaches visitors about water conservation via public art installations and various educational exhibits. Further, views into professional active scientific research laboratories tell the story of One Water – a concept that emphasizes how our planet has a finite amount of water, making it an essential resource that needs to be efficiently used and reused whenever possible.

In the renovation project of this duplex apartment in São Paulo, the Bernardes Arquitetura team sought to create large and integrated spaces. The staircase, of a sculptural character, appears as the element of vertical circulation that connects the floors and has its presence revealed through the open gap in one of the walls of the room. The first floor has a navona travertine floor, the same stone that lines the staircase.
