Greek mythology tells us that it was Prometheus who stole the fire of Olympus and gave it to men. With this creation from 1975, Dominque Imbert sought to illustrate and pay homage to this theft. The Antéfocus model was the first creation made by Dominique Imbert in 1967 for his personal use. This is the origin of the Gyrofocus (1968) and of the entire Focus range, hence its name. In the autumn of 2000, star architect Norman Foster commissioned Dominique Imbert, artist and founder of Focus, to create a custom-designed model for the vast reception hall of the head office of a major company in the UK. The gas Filiofocus 2000 (central) was designed for this specific commission. It was then developed in a second, scaled-down 1600 version. Following its creation, the Filiofocus made history by winning a gold medal in the Trophées du Design at the Batimat trade show in Paris, as well as a silver medal for design at the Concours de Design in Stuttgart.
