The Golden Box

Reacting to the owner’s unique requirement of a ‘transparent’ house like a shopping mall, we mediate the level of transparency with different types of screening devices- the aluminium mesh, bamboo ‘wall’ and blinds- blurring the visual threshold of the public and private and at times making the house ‘disappear’. It is an Un-private house. The ground level living space is a 26m long and 6m wide column free space with 3-sided full height glass panels exposing the user within. It brings in the views from the outside, taking advantage of the abundant greenery in the surroundings. The boundary walls mediate between the inside and outside. Behind the glass wall is a row of bamboo chosen for screening. It acts as a foreground for the floating gol... More

Kordsa Global- Sabancı University Composite Techno

Piramit Architects had designed the research and development centre for Kordsa Global's composite Technologies, which is located within the Teknopark Istanbul area. It is a mixed-use building consisting of laboratories and offices where research and development projects can be carried on.Considering its technical functions, the prismatic massive form of the structure can be thought of as a heavy piece of machine placed on the ground. The selection of dark coloured reflective glass and coated metal claddings and the hefty mass also enhances this perception. The building has a closed area of 17.000 m2 on a rectangular plot of 6.200 m2. It houses production, research laboratory and office functions. The centre is used by production engineers, t... More

Torre Europa

The project develops a residential tower at Plaza de Europa in L'Hospitalet de Llobregat as part of a larger development that includes other towers of similar characteristics. AQUITANIS HEADQUARTERS

Building the head offices of a social housing operator is a unique and symbolic act. For the public and the operator’s various partners, the building needs to embody and reflect the values of Aquitanis. It needs to convey a gentle form of symbolism. Urban symbolism The plot of land is located at the entrance of the new Ginko urban development zone, part of a discontinuous and disparate business fabric. The firms, Platform Architectures and Reichen & Robert, came up with a simple urban journey based on the combination of three basic components. These three elements, which together create a sense of imbalance, highlight the strong symbolism of the project. The subtle layering and misalignment of the various shapes, level upon level, is... The ventilated cladding material is designed to allow or to block sunlight through its changing pattern. The ski... More
