Marbo Shirt Studio
With over 35 years’ experience, George Marbo is a master craftsman. His namesake label Marbo Shirt offers the gentlemen of Sydney a bespoke tailoring service which produces crisp, well-constructed dress shirts. The refurbished store is a retail space and working studio that is quietly confident, using a textural palette of modest finishes.
The brief was to refresh the existing heritage space with a relatively small budget. The tenancy was haphazard in its layout and lacked ambience, organisation and personality. The aim was to elevate the productivity of the workspace, whilst aesthetically capturing George’s authenticity and quiet sophistication.

Allen Tailoring Studio
Allen Tailoring is a retail studio space with an androgynous edge. Inspiration is drawn from the art of tailoring and the beauty of industrial machines, tools and equipment. There is a ‘lived in’ feel to the space that is not too precious; finishes that will patina and age over time are employed to give a richness and warmth to the interior.At a tiny 18sqm, Allen Tailoring is a bustling studio. The client previously occupied a space that was triple the size, but had no shopfront to catch passers-by; this made it challenging to draw in new clientele and grow the business. OSKA Clothing
The OSKA woman exudes a contemporary, yet pared back elegance with light draping and menswear inspired silhouettes. The aim was to translate these key aesthetic elements with layers of black, shades of grey and textures of white. A moodiness and restrained drama is created and ultimately reflects the brand aesthetic.Sydney’s iconic Queen Victoria Building was hand-picked by OSKA Germany for their second NSW store. The brief stipulates a strictly monochrome palette and include the signature crisp white, jet black and specific grey tones. Zahli Restaurant
Embracing the concept of ‘modern middle eastern’, Zahli creates a new, elegant dining experience for Lebanese cuisine within the grungy Surry Hills neighbourhood. We draw inspiration from Beirut through a rich, contemporary mix of finishes, patterns and textures.A muted colour palette, statement flooring and a clever approach to lighting are three key design elements that create a memorable experience when visiting Zahli. The emphasis is the ‘modern’ within the tag line: modern middle eastern. The heavily patterned floor is the talking point, but also acts to blur the line between inside and outside dining spaces.
