New building of a one family house in a ruinous Bavarian Forrest Farmhouse Celia The original farmhouse was built in 1840.The cadastral map excerpt documents several changes of the owner(sometimes it was signed with XXX), which increase to several heightenings and attachments to the house. Located in the Swiss Alpine village of Lumino, just north of Bellinzona, this house stands as a monolithic element, quietly complementing and echoing its context. The surrounding area is characterised by traditional stone built houses, many of which date back centuries and are marked by their use of this single construction material. This house is for a husband and his wife who have a lot of hobbies such as cooking, cycling,and so on. The client wanted large cooking space,working space, and an ideal bath room, mortar floor,and the skeleton ceiling. On the way of this planning,we consider how can we create this ideal house with efficieney and save money. We made a proposal to use concrete blocks as a kitchen counter, partition, and storage,same way as a bath room division. There are suite for brutal taste. We found that the ceiling is covered by heat insulating material at the time of disassembly working. Stealth Barn is a project that sits next to and complements Ochre Barn, a large threshing barn converted by CTA to a home and studio. This addition was to provide a self-contained unit that could equally act as a guest house, studio or meeting place, depending on time of year and workloads: a retreat, but also a place of inspiration, enjoyment and a place of work and home without compromising the experience of either. The Xeros project is sited within a late 1950’s era neighborhood where the urban grid of Phoenix, Arizona is overtaken by the organic land forms of the north phoenix mountain preserve. Located at the end of two dead-end streets, the Xeros residence is positioned upon the upward slope of a 50’x 250’ double lot facing the mountain preserve to the north and the city center to the south. GAD is based on the idea that this semi- temporary gallery, can be disassembled, moved and reassembled easily at any location, within a few days. Ten ordinary steel containers make the basis of the project. Five of them generates the ground floor, three surrounds the central first floor courtyard and the final two closes the square shaped building, giving access to the top floor balcony. Industrial ladders and stairs connect the containers, as they are a part of the main circulation system through the gallery. Located in Lasagnana, on a tiny street in the middle of Val Parma, the ground level of a former stable has been converted into an apartment / studio for an young couple . Dimensions and shapes come from the position of existing elements: windows, walls and columns. The strongest element of the stable was for us the “whole space”. A bathroom is the only volume added, completely covered in white 10x10 cm tiles that bring light and uniformity. It is a freestanding structure where space has been turned inside out. The new Pulpit Rock mountain lodge, the winning design competition entry in 2004, accommodates twenty-eight guest rooms, a café, a restaurant and a conference room. The lodge is situated at the trail-head leading up to The Pulpit Rock, the sheer cliff cantilevering over the Lysefjord. Site conditions/placement The lodge’s placement and massing is well fitted into the immediate environment with its undulating terrain, its roof profile drawn from adjacent peaks. Brief The clients brief in this invited competition was to design two apartments on the top floor of the existing Central London post office and Phillips de Pury art action house in Victoria, London. The client expressed a wish for large volume ‘loft’ spaces and his desire for a contemporary design and functionality. The site is a province in a nice and warm weather where remains both a feeling of old downtown and small factories that run by family business near the dry riverbed, Abekawa river. A client wants to build the house where he / she can enjoy playing music and doing DJ. The house is encompassed by a fireproofed concrete wall and is installed the louver if traffic is barely congested on north side of site where people can approach to the house, and also on southeast side adjacent to 60 years old and rotten housings. The young Brazilian architect Guilherme Torres chose to live in a small studio in Londrina, Brazil. The place would lodge an artist’s painting atelier and was under redecoration for over 10 years by the architect himself. The present project came to life due to several problems found in the building such as electricity mains and rewiring, wall cracks and seepage.
