Meshki Headquarters
A Sydney fashion label comes of age with the its new headquarters in Sydney’s industrial inner south — an Art Deco-era warehouse, transformed by THOSE Architects. In 2023, THOSE Architects completed the transformation of an old warehouse for contemporary female fashion label MESHKI. The two-story warehouse is typical of the Mascot / Rosebery industrial area, and had been added to over time, adapting to different uses.

Aje Headquarters
In a landmark building that was once a famous Argentinian restaurant, THOSE Architects have peeled away the past to create a collaborative new headquarters for Aje. Their rigorous replanning has delivered a light-filled interior open yet discreet, that bring the business arms of this burgeoning fashion house under one extraordinary roof. THOSE Architects have reimagined an 1890s corner shop and terrace in Surry Hills, turning a burnt-out restaurant into a light-filled creative industry hub. The Isla
THOSE Architects were excited to reimagine the 1970s-built Abel Tasman Motel at Bateman’s Bay on the NSW south coast. In their day, motels like the Abel Tasman were just pitstops, but the ambition with Isla was to create a destination, worthy of its beachside address.

Interventions lean into the 70s vibe using a warm palette of colours (ochre, ivory and kelp green) and materials - oak feature walls and terrazzo bathroom trims. The brick facade is painted warm white with panels of ochre and new concrete breeze blocks along ground-floor walkways both reducing the horizontal bulk of the building to a more vertical villa scale.
