Designed by Ateliers A+ and set within a striking alpine landscape, the Joséphine Baker student residence establishes a close dialogue with its environment through precise volumes and carefully chosen materials. The project follows British architect Peter Arhends’ orthonormal grid, engaging with surrounding vegetation and panoramic mountain views, where “the constant presence of the mountains provides a grandiose backdrop.” The volumes are assertive yet integrated, with facades articulated in timber and stamped concrete.
