Timber louvers

TAJIMI HOUSE is a two-story residence of reinforced concrete bearing-wall construction in Tajimi, Gifu Prefecture, Japan. A large retaining wall stands close to the western boundary, while a neighboring residence is located to the north. Although the neighbor's garden along the northern boundary provides a sense of openness, the most expansive views extend toward the distant landscape to the south and east. The design seeks to bring the surrounding landscape and distant mountain views into everyday life while maintaining privacy.
