Volcanoes Pavilion
ContextThe pavilion is located on the southern shore of Lake Llanquihue, on former grazing land with open views toward the Osorno and Calbuco volcanoes. The site retains traces of rural use—clearings, pathways, fences—intertwined with regenerating vegetation. This overlap of natural landscape and productive memory forms the project’s foundation.

Periscope Hut connects people with nature in an unexpected way
Periscope Hut was created by Zimo Zhang and Zhifei Xu of Paris-based studio Else Design. The winner of the international architecture competition “Le Festival des Cabanes”, the hut is located in Saint-Ferréol, close to a small village by Lake Annecy in the French Alps. Periscope Hut’s thoughtful design establishes a deeply felt connection with its natural surroundings.

Stratford Pavilion by ACME features an ultra-lightweight and sustainable timber construction concept
Situated at the gateway to Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park in Stratford, this new timber-framed pavilion is set to become a new landmark and meeting place for east London. The mixed-use neighbourhood that surrounds is increasingly becoming home to a cluster of world-leading universities, arts and cultural intuitions alongside an array of commercial, technology, manufacturing, and retail businesses.

THE PAVILION
What matters is that it's a space where reading can take place.
The Pavillion has been designed as a modern-day folly, is constructed of timber and glass and is located on the grounds of an existing detached villa in the Algarve.
The concept was to create a small private retreat close to the existing house with views across open countryside towards the sea beyond.
The new structure is sited in a wonderfully mature setting but also in a part of the garden that was rarely used.
Subtle changes are projected onto the timber slatted façade throughout the day created by the movement of the sun and the shadows from the foliage of the surrounding trees.
