Tiny cabin

Vichuquén is an artisan town in Maule region, in Chile. Is characterized by being a summer holidays place, close to Santiago, the capital, and for being a place that combines the lake with its mountain landscapes. With our Tiny Cabins, we sought to generate a Project that would become an architectura icon in the área, wich would help to promote tourism activity and be easily recognized. Working from home can be challenging, especially with small kids around. Therefore a young creative couple asked Studio Abacaxi to design a Garden Studio, in which they could work and host guests. The combination of working and living resulted in a multi-functional structure, where the integrated furniture caters to the different needs. Casa Kuvo was commissioned to us in 2021 for the coastal locality of Matanzas in Chile, known for its weather conditions that favor the practice of water and wind sports. The brief called for a small unit of only 70 m2, with two bedrooms and two bathrooms, suited for a younger population and preferably spread across two stories to make the most of the views towards the ocean. On the 15th of September 2022, the Brette Haus showcased its brand new folding house in Europe. The “Rustic 20 XL” was installed in Hollenbek, Germany.What is it? This is a 30 sq.m. tiny wooden house for hospitality accommodation. It was developed and manufactured in March 2021 in collaboration with cross-laminated timber manufacturer WIGO Group. Caption The key feature of this cabin is its compact transportation size. The folding feature allows optimizing delivery two times. Three modules are connected with hinges and fold inside each other.
