The project's guiding concept was to develop the new railway station not merely as an infrastructure facility, but as an urban connecting element that enables barrier-free everyday mobility between the two communities for everyone.
A broadly sweeping, generously dimensioned bridge structure made of timber and steel for pedestrians and cyclists is the central element, both functionally and visually.

Newport News Transportation Center
Population growth in the Hampton Roads, Virginia metropolitan area, particularly in the Upper Peninsula, called for improved mass transit facilities. Planning and construction of a new transportation center in Newport News arose from the need to expand upon existing stations lacking sufficient parking and accommodations for people with disabilities.

Completed in the summer of 2024, the new transportation center was designed to replace outdated stops. It serves as a hub for local bus transit and Amtrak's Virginia Peninsula branch of the Northern Regional. Additionally, train passengers can connect to this station via the Amtrak Thruway bus to and from Norfolk, Virginia.

Connexion CNIT Eole
Designed in 1958, the CNIT is a mixed-use center (offices, shops, services), an emblematic building of Paris La Défense and an icon of modernist architecture. For the past 20 years, Cro&Co Architecture has accompanied the transformation of the CNIT, adapting it to changes in its environment while preserving its identity.

In May 2024, to coincide with the arrival of the new Eole RER station in the CNIT basement, where up to 70,000 visitors per day will pass through, the team created new connecting spaces and a new shopping mall (45 shops over 9,000 m2).

Freiburg’s ‘Pavillon on Europaplatz’ by J Mayer H marks a new starting point for Freiburg’s historical core
Marking a new starting point for Freiburg’s historical core, the 250 square meter Pavillon on Europaplatz features a freestanding, curving green roof canopy that houses a bus stop, tram station, and restaurant.
