Parking Vijzelgracht

The fully automatic underground Vijzelgracht garage is the largest of its kind in the Netherlands and has 270 parking spaces. It is located on top of the Vijzelgracht metro station in Amsterdam. The hollow space above the station has been used as a parking garage. Due to the size and accessibility of this space, the choice for a fully automatic underground parking system was obvious. The underground parking helps to reduce cars parked on the streets in the busy city centre, to make room for greenery, cyclists and pedestrians.  IC4U - Hans Peter Föllmi Entrance Cabins Three small cabins are the only visible sign of the parking garage. Drivers leave their car in one of the cabins and the system takes care of the rest. The cab... More

Noordblok Stadionplein

For years, Stadionplein in Amsterdam was best known as a boarding point for holiday buses and because of the Febo on the square. Once conceived as a temporary parking space for the 1928 Olympic Games, the square was never really finished; nor did it when the Amstelveenseweg was connected to the Amsterdam ring road, effectively making the square an entrance to the city. Two buildings, a residential building with a mixed program and a hotel, branch on the block structure devised by Berlage. This also enhances the experience of one of the most beautiful and surely the longest urban sightline i... More

Matabiau Ramblas Car Park

The hereby presented project consists of the construction of a public underground carpark of 400 spaces, built underneath the metro tunnel, at the top section of the allées Jean Jaurès in Toulouse (Occitanie region, France). The allées Jean Jaurès are the Champs Elysées of Toulouse. From 1824 to 1960, called the allées Lafayette at the time, they had a grand central pedestrian fairway flanked on either side by motor vehicle lanes and the tramway lines: it was the toulousain Ramblas. In 1960, the landscaped pedestrian area is cleared to make way for the tarmacked road dedicated to motor vehicles: the allées Jean Jaurès we know today. Currently, the allées are part of the larger... More

Clubhouse Boompjes

Boompjes 60–68 is a site along the busy ring road into central Rotterdam, which runs along a dyke between the River Maas and the Scheepmakershaven. Featuring two residential towers of 70 and 100 metres respectively, this is just one of nine recent high-rise projects transforming Rotterdam’s harbour into a diverse, densely developed city district. Ossip van Duivenbode Ossip van Duivenbode Ossip van Duivenbode Volume compositionThe initial brief featured a stacked tower with a single vertical peak. Team V proposed to split the building volume into two towers, increasing natural light on the lower floors and allowing more corner apartments to be built. This significantly improves the residential quality of the build... More
