Orbital Nimbus
From Architectural Object to Polycentric Urban MorphologyArestea’s the "Orbital Nexus" typology, initially characterized in the designs as a singular, multifunctional complex defined by radial symmetry and fluid verticality, presents a compelling framework for scalar expansion into larger urban ensembles. Moving beyond the distinct architectural object, this paradigm offers a blueprint for a new urban morphology. By extrapolating the core tenets of the Nimbus—specifically its centrifugal organization, biomorphic form, and layered connectivity—one can envision coherent districts that challenge traditional rectilinear gridding in favour of a fluid, polycentric urbanism.

The Enfold
Set on a compact footprint, this house is designed around simple materials and thoughtful planning. A clay-red exterior wraps around the home, echoing the colour of the African tulip tree that dominates the front of the site. The tree was embraced—its form guiding the shape of the building. The architecture steps in and out around the tree’s canopy, with bold projections and soft recesses that reflect its presence. This thoughtful shaping also anticipates future buildings on either side, ensuring the house remains private on the outside and expansive on the inside.
