Ataraxia House

This project consists of a complete basement extension under an existing Victorian terraced house. In addition to that we have also added a side-infill extension and remodelled the historical first floor rear extension. As a result of that we have added three bedrooms, three bathrooms, a utility room, extra living space and turned two dysfunctional box-rooms into another well-proportioned bedroom. Transparent space design concepts are gaining increasing significance in modern architecture. Opaque structural components such as floors, stairs and ceilings are being completely or partially replaced with transparent glass surfaces that can be walked on.  Walk-on glass (TG-STEP) is made of laminated safety glass with at least three individual layers of float or extra-white glass, bound together using several highly tearproof PVB films. Rooftop access Amsterdam loft

Amazing old school conversion to a beautiful light loft. In the Blankenstraat in Amsterdam the former public primary school transformed into loft appartments and offices. The large windows and high ceiling bring a feeling of space and light. For even more space the owners made the rooftop accessible and created a wonderful rooftop garden with nice views over Amsterdam. They used an enormous sleek, low-profile hinged opening skylight for easy access to the rooftop of this Amsterdam loft.
