ANA architects has been specializing in architecture for dwelling for 25 years. The firm was founded in 1997 by Marcel van der Lubbe and Jannie Vinke. In the past quarter century, ANA has proven itself with award-winning projects and studies into innovative housing typologies.
Our architecture reflects the changing society and goes beyond the madness of the day. With our own research projects, we explore solutions for current and future spatial challenges. The time frame in which social changes occur is much shorter than the functional lifespan of buildings. In our projects, we therefore always seek the right flexibility within the given conditions.
We approach architecture from the large, urban and the small, human scale. Our strength lies in that area of tension. We connect the typology with the context and design buildings that enter into a relationship with their environment. We call this micro-urban development, in which we always connect the diversity of living with the collectivity of the environment.
ANA architects are currently working in a team on various residential complexes throughout the Netherlands, including 230 homes on Strijp-S, the former Philips site in Eindhoven. Early 2025, the first pile was driven into the ground for the Merwede district, where ANA worked as a coordinating architect on 7 residential buildings. This year, construction also started on the multi-use wooden residential building Robin Wood on Centrumeiland in Amsterdam, a co-creation of ANA architects and Marc Koehler Architects. Kop Sloot, 40 family homes on Slotermeerlaan in Amsterdam-West, was completed in 2024. And The Family was also completed earlier that year, a residential building for families with approximately 150 homes in the Spoorzone in Delft.
