Two stories of excellence…
The Ars vivendi group is born from the union of two Emilian companies: Tarsíe and Ars Vivendi. Since 1987 Tarsíe has specialized in the processing of polychrome terracotta and in research on inlay techniques. Its products are made with the exclusive technique of polychrome terracotta inlays welded in the oven, a patent by Giuliano Melioli, designer of the company and inventor of this technique of processing terracotta able to create products resistant to the use of time.
Ars Vivendi, born a few years later from the experience of Tarsíe, offers innovative furniture and architecture solutions revisiting the ancient cocciopesto technique. It is a real artistic laboratory that proposes in a personal key, both for the polychrome mixture and for the inlay work, this technique already used in Roman times for floors in patrician house and for covering walls and ceilings in thermal baths. The "coccio" (fragments of cotto), finely or coarsely grounded and mixed with binders and inerts, allows to create products of various types and sizes.
…for original and unique furnishing solutions
From the union of these experiences of excellence are born decorations, coatings and objects in terracotta and colored cocciopesto by Ars vivendi group. Our furnishing solutions are customised to create an infinite variety of applications and contexts, and they are realized starting from the ideas of the owners of the two companies Giuliano Melioli and Franco Cipriani in collaboration with external architects and designers. All stages of the production and finishing process, the forming of the piece, the inlay, the waxing, and the polishing are handmade by specialized craftsmen. The absolute protagonist of every creation is timeless beauty.
Ars Vivendi also proposes tables and washbasins collections made of cocciopesto and inlaid polychrome cotto. Suitable for both classic and modern environments , the Tarsie Vivendi tables and washbasins distinguish themselves for the particular materials used and their design. Thanks to the soft and sensual lines on the surfaces, the metal or cotto inserts, the engraved decorations and the charm of the thick craquelé obtained using restoration techniques, these objects combine artistic tradition and artisan craftsmanship. From the production of the material to the finish, each piece is in fact handmade becoming an unique work of art.
To complement these collections Tarsíe Vivendi offers a line of furnishing accessories and decorative objects made of inlaid polychrome cotto and additional unique pieces in raku designed by Claudio, Giuliano Melioli’s son.
